Rhino Lodge at Port Lympne

Port Lympne Reserve Lympne Nr Hythe CT21 4LR

Rhino Lodge is an idyllic place to relax in style and comfort at this peaceful retreat, perfect for unwinding and far away from the buzz of everyday life. Originally one of the gatehouses of Philip Sassoon’s estate, this charming Grade II listed cottage has a king-size bedroom and a double bedroom both with en suite bathrooms - complete with roll top baths, complimentary Bamford products and fluffy towels. Downstairs there is a separate smaller child-sized bedroom nook and a cosy living area offering views over the garden to a wild world beyond – just waiting to be explored…

Rhino Lodge is within easy access of the 600-acre wildlife park, which is home to over 800 animals across 77 species. The Eastern black rhinos, currently on the critically endangered list, are the largest herd of black rhinos in the country and form part of an international breeding programme where Port Lympne is the most successful breeder in the UK. You’ll find some of the herd at the end of your private garden!

The Reserve is a haven for many rare and endangered animals and their care is at the heart of Port Lympne’s existence. You’ll have your very own golf buggy, making it an easy and comfortable way to get around. You can enjoy access to the Reserve before the visitors arrive and after the park closes in the evening, offering the opportunity to see the animals in a completely different light.

Whilst staying at Port Lympne be sure to make the most of all the park has to offer, from taking a walk through the ages in the three-acre Dinosaur Forest, which has over 100 life-size, anatomically correct prehistoric creatures to safari experiences, animal encounters, feeds and talks. Then, at the end of your day, why not take time out at the Treehouse Clubhouse? Enjoy basking in the afternoon sun, with a drink in hand on the lawns followed by dinner at the four-star Port Lympne Hotel, just a short buggy ride away. Alternatively enjoy a meal at the Bear Lodge Clubhouse or Babydoll’s Wood Fired Pizza.
