Afternoon tea or a gourmet meal?

Ashford and Tenterden are great for gourmets.  Here Kent's finest produce pops up in Michelin-starred cuisine, chic pub grub and utterly irresistable afternoon teas.

As befits places plumb in the middle of Kent's Garden of England, Ashford and Tenterden offer up fabulous local produce.  Long-famous for prime-quality hops, apples, pears, cherries, cobnuts, asparagus and lamb, other mini-industries are thriving too.

The drinks crafted locally are simply superb, with four excellent vineyards close to Tenterden.  The area produces some world-class wines; take a vineyard tour and indulge in tutored tastings. Cider connoisseurs love it here too, and producers specialise in producing flavour-full ciders and tangy juice.

Local micro-breweries are busy bottling specialist beers too and The Old Dairy Brewery has recently relocated, setting up home in the heart of Tenterden.  And Curious Brewery, part of the Chapel Down Winery family has recently opened its doors to a state of the art brewery, right in the heart of Ashford. The Curious Brewery was established in 2011 and is part of one of the UK’s most exciting drinks companies and leading winemaker, Chapel Down.

Whatever your budget and tastes, you can be sure you'll enjoy eating out here.  Great eateries include a smart vineyard bistro, a shabby-chic greenhouse, walled courtyards and luxury country house hotels.
