The Explorer Experience

Creative Workshops

A chance to try a new skill or indulge your floral passion with Anna's Country Flowers.  She offers a variety of seasonal workshops from her home where all the materials are supplied, as well as refreshments.  Workshops range from flower crown making, hand tied bouquet making as well as autumn forage and field day.  Groups are kept small for maximum interaction time, so places book fast.

The Cowshed Workshop offer a great selection of creative courses by working with local artists and makers to bring you years of expertise and experience. The courses are designed for all, whether this is your first time holding a needle or paint brush, right through to learning how to sculpt with willow, design ceramics or weave a basket.  Find your creative side.

 

The Wider Experience

Offering a comprehensive cycling experience in Kent and Sussex providing training programs and refresher courses all through the year for learning to ride, as well cycling fitness, road safety and off-road courses.  Also experiences and tours for all ages and abilities to enable riders to connect with the local Kent landscape by offering bespoke rides through The Saxon Shore Way, Route 18, The North Downs Way, Kent AONB, Pilgrims Trail, Wye, Chilham, Kings Wood and many more beautiful places to see.

Try your hand at "Ride & Glide" a 2 part adventure comprising of a cycle ride in either Camber or Rye followed by a water sports session, choose from windsurfing, sailing, paddle boarding or kayaking.

 

The Big Cat Sanctuary

Pullman Dining on The Kent & East Sussex Railway

The Wealden Pullman forms the perfect venue to celebrate a special occasion or for a more intimate evening. Your meal is carefully prepared onboard and served by authentically attired Pullman Attendants whilst the train gently winds its way along the Rother Valley giving you the opportunity the see the beautiful countryside. Dining carriages include historic Pullman Cars dating from the 1920’s and a 1930’s First Class carriage built for the Southampton Ocean Liner traffic.

Driver Experiences on Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway

The Taster Course has been devised to offer the enthusiast a taste of what it’s like to take the controls of one of their world-famous steam locomotives, and also to enjoy the experience of riding the footplate.  The first part of the course involves a double run between New Romney Station and the Romney Warren Halt, with the participant driving a light loco, fully supported by one of their highly-experienced drivers. The second part of the course is an exhilarating 28-mile full round trip riding the footplate.  Other experiences include the Silver and Gold Course, Signaller's Day and Footplate Ride.  The perfect gift for a train enthusiast to try!

Stevenson Brothers

Follow in the steps of royalty and the rich and famous and see bespoke rocking horses being handcrafted at Stevenson Brothers in Bethersden.  They are world renowned for their quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail.  All of their rocking horses are lovingly hand-made and can be crafted to your exact wishes.  Every rocking horse produced is unique and can be personalised by incorporating a crest into the design, customising the horse in tribute to a much-loved family horse, or tailoring the tack. Each horse is also numbered and dated on a brass, silver or gold plate for authenticity.

Meet The Winemaker

There is no better way to explore Biddenden Vineyard and learn about how they produce award-winning wines than with one of their winemakers.  These exclusive meet the winemaker evening tours are designed for groups looking for an in depth, personalised experience with an opportunity to discuss wines with the person who made them, something a standard tour simply cannot offer.  Tours will be conducted by either Managing Director Julian Barnes, second generation grower and winemaker, or Vineyard and Winery Manager Tom Barnes, third generation grower and winemaker.

Cycle Tour Packages

The Old Dairy Brewery and The Wider Experience have joined forces to offer cycle tour packages.  Combine a trip to Old Dairy Brewery with a cycle tour of the Garden of England.  Choose from either a guided tour or a self led tour, you can bring your own bike or hire one, along with your equipment from The Wider Experience.  Both Experiences include a Flight of Beer and a pie/scotch egg at the Old Dairy Brewery Taproom, either at the start or end of your cycle ride and for the under 18's a soft drink!
