Fun For Free or Almost

Enjoying the countryside

Because days out don't have to cost the earth

Days out don't have to cost a lot, with so much available for free.  With the beautiful Kent countryside on your doorstep you won't be short of places to go.  Free workshops and activities can be found at Wild Sites on Your Doorstep. Why not try Hothfield Heathlands where you can do some birdwatching, go bug hunting, and enjoy the stunning scenery, or discover more about wildlife in Ashford Warren and Hoads Wood. Take in the spectacular views over the Romney Marsh at The Wye National Nature Reserve

There's lots going on for kids at Singleton Environment Centre, look out for their events which are both fun and informative.

And the newly-opened Conningbrook Lakes is the ideal place for a gentle stroll around the lake.  Ashford's new Country Park is being prepared for water sports, angling and more and will become a firm favourite for outdoor lovers.

If history and culture is your thing then visit our museums, a small charge may apply.  Pop into the Ashford Visitor Information and pick up free trails leaflets.  Or take a tour and enjoy a tasting session at Biddenden Vineyards (fee applies).

Fancy something a little wilder? At Port Lympne Wild Animal Park you pay once then enjoy free entry for the next 12 months, something that will definitely encourage you to come back.
