Tenterden High Street

A great market town located in the heart of the weald, Tenterden is surrounded by glorious countryside and boasts a vibrant high street with many independent businesses. Recognised for its picturesque tree-lined heritage high street, the town is also home to Chapel Down Vineyard and the Kent and East Sussex Railway.

Tenterden is the perfect place to wander and enjoy a unique retail offer provided by local family businesses that have been in the town for generations. You'll instantly feel at ease and ready to explore, whether you're looking for excellent antiques and interiors or unique gifts and wardrobe additions.
It's also a lovely place where you can enjoy breakfast lunch or dinner - with a vast variety of coffee shops, pubs and restaurants, it’s definitely worth including at least one food and drink stop. In the winter the towns’ historic buildings offer the perfect retreat and in the summer, sit outside and watch the world go by.
Tenterden is the perfect touring base for independent travellers and groups, due to its central weald location. It's perfect for both independent or group travellers and has ample town centre car parking. There's also designated free coach parking for up to three hours. Visits to the town can easily be combined with local attractions within a short distance, you can comfortably reach the following must see attractions:

• Garden lovers - Sissinghurst National Trust, Great Dixter, Hole Park, Godinton House & Gardens
• Vineyard explorers – Chapel Down, Biddenden, Gusbourne and Hush Heath Vineyards.

Tenterden is located a 20 minutes drive away from junction 9 Ashford M20, 35 minutes from Junction 7 M20 Leeds Castle and approximately 30 minutes to the Coast.
