Bus rally day at the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway
Make the most of your day by starting your journey from Hythe and enjoying breakfast in the Light Railway Café before taking your seat on the train for New Romney to admire the vintage buses, coaches and taxis in the car park area. Don’t forget to visit the Model Exhibition and spot the model buses on the layout. Perhaps take a trip on the ever-popular complimentary rides aboard vintage buses (including an open-top) that will be available between New Romney and Dungeness to take in the seaside views.
Once at Dungeness join us in the End of the Line Restaurant to savour a warming lunch. Have a browse around our souvenir shops that will be stocked with collectable bus memorabilia and enjoy several trade stands specialising in bus books and models. Complimentary car parking will be available at Hythe, Dymchurch and Dungeness Station as well as The Marsh Academy Leisure Centre (New Romney).
Complimentary shuttles will be running from The Marsh Academy Leisure Centre (New Romney) car park to New Romney Station between 10:00-12:00, the car park will close promptly at 17:45. Travelling via public transport? Enjoy a complimentary bus ride from Ashford International Station to New Romney Station. Pickup Ashford Int (Domestic) 10.20 for arrival at Romney at 11.00 Pickup New Romney 15.45 for arrival Ashford Int 16.25 Timings for this and RH&DR’s enhanced timetable will be available on our website. The great value Romney Rover ticket is valid all day for travel to all main stations for £18.60ad and £9.30child (aged 3-15years).
